We Spent 30 Minutes Trying to Find One Plan in SF… and Built Vently Instead

·

We didn’t build Vently because we wanted to launch another tech company.
We built it to solve a deeply rooted personal problem — finding and connecting to fun events and people nearby.
Exhausted from opening six different tabs just to find something worth going to in San Francisco.
Eventbrite. Google. Instagram. TikTok. Reddit threads. Flyer links from group chats.
And then a handful of random websites that look like they were built a century ago. It sucked.
Every night felt like a scavenger hunt:
What’s actually happening tonight? What’s worth going to?
San Francisco has the energy — and we knew the events and communities where there, but they where somehow gatekept.
So we built Vently.com — a new kind of hub for event discovery in San Francisco.

San Francisco has the energy — and we knew the events and communities were there — but they were somehow gatekept. Hard to find. Hidden behind noise. There needed to be a better way.
So we built Vently.com — a new kind of hub for event discovery in San Francisco. Not another marketplace filled with random listings, but a curated home for plans that actually matter. A platform that feels human — more like a friend saying: “Here’s what’s happening tonight… and here’s why you should check it out.”
We didn’t want to list every event. We wanted to highlight the right ones. That’s why we vet every host. We review every post. We built trust into the feed — not volume. No spam. No outdated flyers. Just the best of San Francisco, updated daily: hidden pop-ups, founder mixers, warehouse nights in the Mission, art shows in SoMa, and creator-led experiences across the Bay. The kinds of events that make you glad you left the house.
Vently isn’t built around algorithms. It’s built around community. Because exploring your city shouldn’t feel like work — it should feel like belonging.
See you there.
